A Muslim Woman Remaining Married to a non-Muslim Man after She Accepts Islam
Question:
A sister wrote to me with this question, asking me if I knew where
to go for an answer. It is concerning a friend of hers. Can you
please offer any advice for the sister in question? The one who asks
wonders if there would be any special consideration for the lady, as
she is an older woman, past childbearing years and married for a
very long time. The questioner also wonders what will happen to the
sister's Islam if she feels she has to choose between it and her
husband.
I have a sister in Islam she is a convert like I am only she is

SHAYKH MUHAMMAD AL-TA'WIL: The Special Characteristics of the Maliki Madhhab
"...This madhhab is the one that [our] fathers and grandfathers chose out of faith, conviction, authority, and proof, and casted off all other madhhabs that preceded it which some nations attempted to impose on them forcefully. In spite of that [coercion, it] only increased their faith, tenacity, and attention to judge from it in their devotional acts and interpersonal dealings; in their mosques, courts, market places, homes, and the rest of their private and public life. They sought out no substitute for it from the time they first came to know it.
'Aqiqa
Q
What is the fiqh of the newborn and young children in the Maliki School, especially with reference to the following issues:
1. naming
2. aqiqa
3. circumcision (and female?)
4. shaving the head
5. length of time breast-feeding should be carried out
and could you perhaps touch on some other issues such as:
5. when to start teaching them Islamic issues, Qur'an etc etc
Circumcision
As for circumcision (khitan) for the male (i.e. removing excess skin from the male prepuce - i.e. head of the penis), it is considered to be a stressed sunnah in our madhhab. But Imam Shafi'i considered it to be compulsory. As for female circumcision (khifad), it is also considered to be recommended (mandub), but it
is not stressed.
